Hi, Gert, and thanks for your answer. I have Ubuntu 7.04 and Openoffice 2.2. (the newest). I have had the problem both in Windows and in Linux. I use consequntly different headings, usually 3 or 4 levels (Heading 1-4, Otsikko 1-4 in Finnish). I have activated the numbering from Tools -> Outline Numbering. I have chosen the levels to match the styles (i.e. level 1 - heading 1, level 2, heading 2 etc.) >From Format(?) -> Bullets and Numbers(?) I have chosen the correct form, i.e. 1 - 1.1 - 1.1.1 - instead of, for instance, 1. -a) - b) etc. It still happens that when I put a heading level 2 in chapter number 4, I get 1.1 and 1.2 etc instead of 4.1 and 4.2 etc. Jürgen __ Wippies-vallankumous on täällä!
