It seems that with kernel version 3.12 the problem is nearly fixed. Since I upgraded to version 3.12-RC7 and 3.12.0 I had only 1 freeze during the last two weeks.
I did not know what changed in the kernel in this version. I no longer think that the problem is related to the GPU but to the WIFI. Is this possible? I found this discussion which looks to me similar to my own description: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=168122 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1137817 Title: [ivb] [WORTMANN TERRA MOBILE ULTRABOOK 1450 II] System freeze after high memory usage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1137817/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
