Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22
In the newer 2.6.23 kernel a patch was done to update which family of processors were supported for powernow-k8. For users of Ubuntu with newer 64bit processors, when trying to use powernow-k8 they will recieve a message that their processor is not supported. With this patch from the newer kernel (see the diffs): http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=30046e5885848fe5c2c66177dca6b277323e31ab The family is updated, and those newer cpu's will have powernow-k8 work properly out of the box. I hope this small patch can be included in whatever next version of the Ubuntu kernel that's put out. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Add proper support for newer AMD CPU's to powernow-k8 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132478 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
