Jason - Thanks for commenting on this bug however your laptop has a different audio chipset than the original reporter on this bug and is most likely a different issue. Please open a new bug report, including the output requested in the Reporting Sound Bugs section of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems, and feel free to assign it to me.
