I've tried just about everything I've read in other threads about this
problem (alsa menu stuff, installing/re-installing different volume
controls, etc) but nothing has worked. Still can't get sound from the
speakers of my Asus x550la. Running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit. Thanks for
