Public bug reported:
Please sync python-json-pointer 1.0-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)
Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
* Use io.open() to open jsonpointer.py with utf-8 encoding in setup.py so it
works in both Python 2 and 3. (LP: #1185170)
Debian imported this patch from Ubuntu. They also added Python 3 support.
Changelog entries since current trusty version 1.0-1ubuntu2:
python-json-pointer (1.0-2) unstable; urgency=low
* Ran wrap-and-sort.
* Adds support for python3.
* Adds Ubuntu patch for utf-8 in setup.py fixing FTBFS.
* Adds README.md in the doc folders.
* Cleans correctly (allow to build twice).
* Standards-Version: 3.9.4
