Sorry, hit return too fast. I discovered that if I renamed the printer as per suggestions on the web, i.e., edited /etc/cups/printers.conf
and changed the line <Printer hp-LaserJet-1320-series> to <Printer my_name> this printer also produced garbage. When I reinstalled it with the original name, this second worked ok. Is there a way of renaming a printer that doesn't create problems? I had also renamed my Brother printer, but when I reinstalled it with it's original name, the garbage output problem was *not* fixed. I'll proceed with your suggestions now for that printer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1252473 Title: Brother printer attached by usb prints garbage went sent a pdf of a scanned document To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/+bug/1252473/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
