Martin, Thanks but unfortunately it didn't work for me either. I have just resumed after about a 5 hour hibernation only to have no networking once again. I have installed the updated systemd-shim from the PPA but I haven't restarted since installing, not sure whether that makes a difference? I'll try again tomorrow after a reboot.
