It looks like I might have just fixed it myself, by carrying out the
following procedure:

1. Uninstall Firefox using the Ubuntu Software Centre
2. Delete the folder /home/(Home)/.mozilla
3. Install Firefox using the Ubuntu Software Centre
4. Reconfigure Firefox setup.

I've noticed a couple of minor changes (eg. one or two missing add-ons,
and I had to fix my Bookmarks Menu a little bit) but the main thing is
that my Bookmarks Toolbar now appears as it is supposed to, and my
Pinned Tabs don't disappear every time that I close the browser.

It's a pain in the neck that I have to set up all my Search Engines yet
again.

I hope it doesn't go bad again, because there are certain things about
the presentation of some websites within Firefox to other browsers, like
Google Chromium and Google Chrome, and it gives me functionality that I
can't get in Epiphany.
