@ NikTh: No these ist an older computer with basic operating system (at time) * Ubuntu Precise Pangolin (12.04.3 LTS) which has inside the grub.cfg an option to start two further ubuntu-OS as wubi-installation (loop-devices) located on a seperate NTFS formated partition for testing purposes (see the attached script for /etc/grub.d).
Until aprox. mid of nov. 2013 all works fine - but with update kernel 3.12.0-3-generic I realized the not working system. Starting the older kernel 3.12.0-1-generic resp. 3.12.0-2-generic I could start the system and evaluate the damages. The restrictions regarding wubi are well known. ** Attachment added: "grub_2 script to start wubi installations" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1254428/+attachment/3916196/+files/35_Entwickler -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1254428 Title: update-initramfs breaks booting kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1254428/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
