looks like the issue has returned with fglrx 8.40.4...I am using an ATI
Xpress 200M. I followed instructions to download the file and it seems
to have made the issue worse. I managed to get the warning flags about
using it in software GL mode...when it finally came up it had no map of
the earth. When I closed and reopened got absolutely nothing except
brief splash screen.
