Indeed, HUD management and communication has been quite poor for some time.

Perhaps that's why this bug was assigned to someone who, according to their own web page, prefers Yellow Dog Linux and Gnome. (Don't misunderstand, this is not intended as an attack on Mr. Gould, about which I know very little.
