when adding a (even very small) swap partition the installation succeeds. as my system features enough ram for my needs plus an ssd which i would not want to wear unnecessarily i was hoping to be able to install lubuntu (fed up with unity and gnome3 -> lxde) without being forced into any certain partition scheme.
