Hi,
for speed reasons, metadata is not fully parsed and not available to the search
for local photos. The only searchable tags are the one added
(manually/automatically) in Shotwell.
On the bright side, this might be fixed for 14.04. Also, if you use the
Flickr or Picasa integration for the lens, you can actually search via
most metadata fields.
