@Christopher: Sorry I didn't update my bug, only posted on AskUbuntu. "End of my story? Larry never found the time to investigate the issue. I returned the item as it dropped connection sometimes on Windows as well. They just refunded it and that's it. So yeah. This is a terrible chip, no one should buy a device equipped with such."
Of course the bug is a bug, so if anyone is willing to help investigate matters further, feel free. I didn't ask for a refund, they just did, without any notice. Not like I mind. (Time for a "free" N wifi. Which I bet will be this bad, too. hah.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1186253 Title: 2357:0100 TP-Link 8200ND USB Wireless adapter won't authenticate [rtl812cu] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1186253/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
