Hi, sorry for the lengthy delay. Downloaded today's (12/03/2013) version of Trusty via link in comment #60.
Tried to boot in UEFI, via USB stick, no joy. System will boot to the Ubuntu choices menu (Try, Install, etc.) I chose Try, screen went black and no further activity for approximately 30 minutes. Tried the Install option, same result.
