Ok if you set the device to discoverable and run:
sudo hcitool scan
Do you get the device detected?
The result output is:
gaytan@MMUG:~$ sudo hcitool scan
[sudo] password for gaytan:
Scanning ...
gaytan@MMUG:~$ sudo hcitool scan
Scanning ...
gaytan@MMUG:~$
Within the OSX side (Mavericks) all is working fine!!
