These are two separate bugs. The mis-detection of resolution is a dupe
of bug 3731. The screen flicker issue may be a dupe of 122652.
We've recently updated the -ati driver to version 6.6.192, which
reportedly fixes other similar screen corruption issues. Can you please
check this (either against a Gutsy daily CD, or Tribe5 when it is
released), and report whether or not the issue remains?
