Even brute force method to remap buttons... I said above about 17 buttons because in some weird configuration, it got those ghost buttons... I guess it was with the mouse driver, not evdev (I tried both). And finally, I tested it on the latest 7.10 version and it still does not work. Also, when I press the vertical scrolling a little harder, it suddenly stops working. I remember finding (google) some other users claiming of the same thing. This behavior is not seen at Feisty with the above configuration. The live CD seems to let a generic mouse driver configuration only. AFAIK, it should be fixed at kernel level, I can not see why this bug is attached to xorg.
