Public bug reported:
I seldom run Ubuntu. The last version I had was 2.6.20-15-generic and
this worked fine. Yesterday I booted Ubuntu and found lots of updates to
download, so I did. Now it boots as 2.6.20.16-generic, but after I log
in I get about 3 screens of text and a weird message with lots of funny
characters, but it says X11 failed to load properly and do I want to
look at something to try and fix the problem. I have no idea what to
look for.
Seems to me something that downloaded was faulty -- but I have no idea
what. I can continue to use 2.6.20-15 but it seems to me that this
problem will probably prevent me from running any later updates.
Can I somehow delete the updates I got earlier and try again? Any
suggestions appreciated.
