I was able to work around this problem by killing NetworkManager and
running NetworkManager --no-daemon from root console. Then it associated
with the hidden network just fine. I have to kill NetworkManager and run
it again (with --no-daemon) if the association needs to be repeated. Can
someone reproduce this workaround?
I have ndiswrapper-driven acx111 card, recent gutsy with kernel
2.6.22-9:
iwconfig Wireless-Tools version 29
Compatible with Wireless Extension v11 to v21.
Kernel Currently compiled with Wireless Extension v22.
wlan0 Recommend Wireless Extension v18 or later,
Currently compiled with Wireless Extension v22.
