Same behaviour observed in installer with 13.10 usb boot media and Sony Vaio Pro 13 (i7, 8GiB RAM, 128GiB SSD). Booting in UEFI mode, with and without Secure boot (does not make a difference). LiveUSB runs perfectly well, have WiFi and all working properly.
Have not partitioned and installed manually, want to sort this out first. Partitions are visible in manual partitioning step and seem ok, so I don't know why Ubiquity does not see the Windows 8.1 Pro OS.
