Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: icecc

icecc needs gcc and g++ installed on a system even when you are just
compiling using gcc. If g++ is missing it will fail silently leaving you
with no clue as to what is wrong. The reason for the dependency is that
when icecc distributes chores it will package gcc and g++ and send this
package to all other nodes to ensure all have the same compiler version.
If icecc does not find g++ it will not distribute any chores.

To reproduce:

Uninstall g++, install icecc. Setup icecc, try to compile something with
"make -jX", where X > 0.

** Affects: icecc (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
