Chad Hogg, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

I have used 9.10 and earlier releases on this hardware daily with no
problems, but after an upgrade to 10.04 I experience the following
problem once for every several hours that I use the machine. There is
no specific trigger that causes it. The symptoms are that suddenly the
keyboard becomes unresponsive. This includes low-level features like
activation of the CapsLock indicator light, though Alt+SysRq+o is
effective. I am able to move the mouse pointer, but mouse clicks have
no effect. There is no corruption of the display. I am able to SSH in
to the system, and when I do I notice that xorg is at 100% CPU usage. I
have found nothing in any log that indicates a problem, but perhaps you
will be able to do so.
-
- This is likely related to other recent bugs such as
- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-
- ati/+bug/577236 but I have filed a separate report because my symptoms
- are not exactly the same as any other report. (For example, I am using
- neither ATI hardware nor compositing.)
