Public bug reported:

I've tried this with both the live system's "test before installing" and just
"Install Xubuntu" options. Both fail in the same way.
After all user input has been accepted, the installer does its thing for a
short while, only to randomly fail. I think I caught a bit of the output that
made me think it was a dpkg error or something, but I'm not entirely sure. All
I am certain of is that I can't seem to install the system to a point where it
will boot.
I made a USB flash drive into the live system using Unetbootin from Debian
Stable. I used the distro options in unetbootin to download this ISO.
Using a DVD or other USB device is not an option, at the moment, since my
desktop lacks a DVD drive, and this is my only flash drive.
