did it again with both regular user as well sudo using none

 mount -t gmailfs none /mnt/gmailfs -o 
umask=0022,user,uid=1000,username=user,password=pass,fsname=blahblah
mount: only root can do that

sudo mount -t gmailfs none /mnt/gmailfs -o 
umask=0022,user,uid=1000,username=user,password=pass,fsname=blahblah
Ignored option :rw
Ignored option :noexec
Ignored option :nosuid
Ignored option :nodev
Ignored option :user
