Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Hibernate has never worked properly for my Dell Inspiron 1150. I have
avoided using it till now, but would really like to see it work. How it
fails varies. (Note that suspend does not appear to be an option - not
sure why). Sometimes it will try to hibernate, but never really finish
and remain in some sort of intermediate state for a while. The only
solution is to hold down the power button 10 seconds till it really
turns off and reboot (at which time it knows nothing about the
hibernation). Sometimes it actually hibernates, but upon reboot it
either gives an error and halts or comes into X, but everything is
screwed up - the screen is a mess. Once in a blue moon, it does appear
to work, but usually problems arise down the line, like evolution or X
need to be restarted.
I am using Ubuntu 6.06 LTS with all the updates.
