Ok I'm now able to manually change screen brightness with nvidiabl; https://github.com/guillaumezin/nvidiabl
It came with a script that goes into /usr/local/sbin why this path is beyond me and if it really matters.... Running like this will change the brightness; /usr/local/sbin/nvidiablctl down /usr/local/sbin/nvidiablctl up Also running like this manually works; echo 10 | sudo tee -a /sys/class/backlight/nvidia_backlight/brightness But acpi_listen and xev don't show any output so I'm not sure how I can map the F keys to /sys/class/backlight/nvidia_backlight/brightness Hopefully Canonical can look at nvidiabl and come up with something... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264104 Title: 10de:0fd4 Asus G75VW F5/F6 doesn't change screen brightness To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1264104/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
