Joshua, thank you for updating your BIOS. Could you please post the following 
into a terminal from a default Ubuntu kernel with no patches or other 
modifications immediately as you boot up:
usb-devices

Then, patch the default kernel via your WORKAROUND outlined in 
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1237296/comments/19 and 
then when the bluetooth is in a working state, execute at a terminal and post 
the results:
usb-devices
