christopher, i now tried for several hours to update the bios. the windows 7 repair disk didn't execute the bios exe.
i did several tries with freedos and read around the internet. is it really essential to update the bios, the changelog is here: "What does it fix? Update CPU micro code to fix video issue." http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/SVP1321C5E/downloads/EP0000316787_9261 i unpacked the exe and it looks like i need a x64 windows as indicated on the download page, at least if i want to flash it with the included flash utility. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265381 Title: [Sony VAIO SVP1321C5E] luks/lvm encrypted 13.10 installation doesn't reliably boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1265381/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
