An update - the upstream bug mentioned in comment #2 has been closed
with the decision that sound through spice is good enough.
Also, a few weeks ago I spent several hours trying to get sound through
pa to work (documented in bug 1246929) in libvirt-started containers.
These permissions alone no longer seem to suffice.
What then to do with this bug (and bug 1246929 and bug 591489)?
