frederik, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Thank you for your understanding.

** Description changed:

- Hi,
+ When I did update the system from 13.04 (unity sidebar stuff did work
+ fine) to release 13.10, I see mine login prompt and after fill in the
+ password I get Black Screen.

- When I did update the system from 13.04 (unity sidebar stuff did work fine)
to release 13.10, I see mine login prompt and after fill in the password I get
Black Screen.
- The notebook is 1810TZ Acer Aspire.
+ WORKAROUND: I did try the followed command: start unity-panel-service
+ This was giving me back the toolbar at top. Then I did automated this task,
it keeps working in the Gnome Flashback modus, but when you now logoff and try
again the other modus Gnome Flashback (No Effects) then it is there not working
anymore. If I disable again the automated command, then it works back in the No
effects Gnome Flashback but not again anymore into the normal Gnome Flashback.

- It has probally something todo with the graphic card: type of card is =
Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset x86/MMX/SSE2
- CPU = Genuine Intel® CPU U4100 @ 1.30GHz × 2
- Type OS installed = 32-bit
- RAM = 2Gig
-
- I don't know why the effects wouldn't work after update from 13.04 to
- 13.10.
-
- Do I need todo a manually update from driver or do I need todo some
- commands before I can let work it again?
-
- Thanx & best regards,
- Frederik
