I can't disable nvidia from bios on this laptop. The only thing I can do is
assign more ram to intel.
Until ubuntu 13.04 i was only able to use nvdia driver through bumblebee and
even if I tried to use nvidia as the only graphics, I did not succeded. Nor did
I try much.
Also I never tried nvidia-prime when I was using ubuntu 13.10. and did not try
this method on ubuntu gnome 13.10 ( I mean manually, because nvidia-prime works
with lightdm).
All that I've bee using till now was bumblebee.
Now, sometimes happens that I don't install bumblebee the same day I do a fresh
install, because I am busy with installing other software. I am no expert in
linux or ubuntu, so I don't know how bumblebee present or not will interfere
with those settings.
Sometimes, after installing bumblebee, I use synaptic and select all installed
packages with xorg* and those related to intel, bumblebee or nvidia and mark
them for reinstall and then reinstall them.
Hope this helps!
