Public bug reported: All smartphones could now make synchonisation to a calendar or an adress book. The both are in server in the web or at home. The protocole communication use CalDAV and CardDAV: two RFC's protocol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CalDAV http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CardDAV
Badly Ubuntu 12.04 LTS could not give this feature out of the box. Ubuntu 14.04 must give us this feature out of the box. Thunderbird could be used to this goal: * lightning add-on could read and write CalDav => https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/thunderbird/addon/lightning/ * SoGo Connector work fine with Thunderbird 's Adress Book: http://www.sogo.nu/downloads/frontends.html (i never understand what EDS Contact integration could do) For the both, i use a little provider which give web link. I think, it will work fine the bigger like Yahoo or Google. A beginner who want this feature must check on the internet the information that Ubuntu could do it and seek he could add it. Expected: Add SoGo Connector's add-on and lightning's add-on inside Thunderbird for Ubuntu's ISO. ** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Opinion ** Changed in: thunderbird (Ubuntu) Status: New => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1267099 Title: Add CalDav and CardDAV capacity by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/1267099/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
