Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-i810

When you write to a terminal window and the mouse cursor is in it, the X
apparently tries to turn the mouse cursor invisible.
When this happens and hardware mouse cursor acceleration is on, the screen goes
blank to a grayish color (different color most of the time), and refreshes to
normal state when the mouse is moved.

I'm using Ubuntu Feisty Fawn.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Disable swcursor from xorg.conf, if not already off (default is off).
2. Open a terminal window.
3. Put the mouse cursor inside the window.
4. Write some text.

Workaround: Enable swcursor. Apparently this disables 3D acceleration
also.
