I have only a Prolific converter which one can make working (at least
with some printers) by the USB quirk settings. Seems that the Belkin
does not work at all.

Mine also behaves different. I get /dev/usb/lp* and NOT /dev/lp* and I
can also print via parallel:/dev/usb/lp*. I also get the printer's
device ID passed through for automatic driver selection.

Can you post the output of the "lsmod" command with adapter and printer
connected and the printer turned on? Thanks.
