Public bug reported: If I wasn't experiencing it, I wouldn't believe this one. Basically, every time I do a multi-GB copy to/from my Nexus 4 using mtpfs (either on the console, or via Nautilus), X locks until the transfer completes. The only thing that stays working is the mouse cursor, everything else freezes completely for the duration of the transfer. As soon as it moves to processing the next file, it unlocks for a few seconds, and then locks up again. If it's many small files, it stays working correctly.
It's baffling, as I can't see how FUSE could affect X like this, especially when the behaviour occurs by running copies from mtpfs on the CLI in screen with no access to the X server.
