Public bug reported: Very simply, there is no reliable encryption that works with Wireless N except WPA2 with AES.
The menu in WICD to set up a connection doesn't list anything close to this so the user doesn't know what to choose. I understand that WPA 1/2 might be the correct choice (it is working for me) -- but why make it trial and error for each and every user? Can you: 1) Please change the menu to read: WPA 1 or 2 (autodetect encryption method) if this is what is meant. As it is now it reads WPA one-half (that is what wpa 1/2 looks like) 2) if there is another encryption choice that works that is fine but I can't figure out what it is... from the menu. ** Affects: wicd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1270342 Title: WICD encryption menu fails to list WPA2 with AES To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wicd/+bug/1270342/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
