Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce:
1. Install digiKam and proceed through the first-run wizard. 2. Enter digiKam configuration, and enter MySQL database connection details. 3. Press "Check DB Connection." Expected result: digiKam attempts to connect to the specified database. Actual result: "Database connection test was not successful. Error was: Driver not loaded Driver not loaded" Running from the terminal, the following messages are output when the button is pressed: QSqlDatabase: QMYSQL driver not loaded QSqlDatabase: available drivers: QSQLITE I was able to fix this problem by installing package "libqt4-sql-mysql" and restarting digiKam. Possibly this package should be considered a dependency, or at least a recommendation, or perhaps digiKam could indicate which package needs to be installed in this situation.
