Public bug reported:
Whenever I tried to run a bittorrent client like transmission or deluge
in ubuntu Precise Pangolian 12.0.4, it would crash the system with a
kernel panic. Running the program from a terminal seemed to make this a
nonissue, so I changed the 'command' field under the right
click/properties menu to deluge instead of deluge-gtk %U by using the
following command in terminal:
gksudo gedit /usr/share/applications/deluge.desktop
I then deleted deluge-gtk from the line labeled tryexec and replaced it
with 'deluge'. I also deleted deluge-gtk %U from the line labeled exec
and replaced it with 'deluge'. The program seems to be running properly
now, and I have not experienced any kernel panics.
