X doesn't work if it is installed at all. It is a fully updated version of edgy. I have no idea what was actually broken, but after installing nvidia-glx it stopped working. I figured out how to get the tty shells working though, if I hit the esc key it started working for some reason. Very odd. Have since uninstalled nvidia-glx and made a new xorg.conf. Everything working again. I did change to nvidia drivers in xorg.conf (I just ran the sudo nvidia-glx-enable function which changes xorg.conf).
