Thanks for reporting a bug in Ubuntu. Could you please take a photo of
the dialog box you see, and attach it to this bug? Also, can you please
attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
My guess is that xorg attempted to launch an X session to test
resolution but there was a detection problem (bug 3731). When
installation finished, did it result in a more-or-less working Ubuntu
session?
