Installing only plasma-widget-homerun-kicker without plasma-widget-homerun and
then adding a widget to the workspace produces an error (can't reproduce it
right now as I have plasma-widget-homerun installed).
Note: I'm doing a dist-upgrade, for a couple of years and I don't have
ubuntu-desktop nor ubuntu-full installed. They both recommend
plasma-widget-homerun, thus probably hiding this error from most users and
developers.
