Yes still exist, 12.04, 13.04, 13.10 and even 14.04 beta 2.
I cant be alone with this. This happen in different machines and many distros.
Maybe one time I have caused it myseft, I used "boot-repair" software to repair 
booting after windows setup. I reinstall GRUB with this software and now there 
is --class too much and it not boot. Every time when I update kernel.
