I'm experiencing very high load averages, and I'm unable to determine
the cause.
For example, look at this output from sar -q:

Especially the last row. How can the load average be over 10 when the
run queue size is 0 and blocked is also 0? During that 10 minute
interval the load average spiked as high as 52.47, with no reasonable
explanation.
Additional details:
This is a VMWare VM.
The system uses quite a bit of CPU (around 50%), it's running highly
multithreaded application (freeswitch). The system responds fine, so it
seems to be just a reporting issue.
However, this completely screws up the automatic monitoring of the
machine, because I receive a lot of alarms about the high load average.
Then I log on to investigate, and I find nothing wrong. This is
extremely frustrating.
