You talk about many things in this bug report, so it's not easy to
understand what the problem is.
Initially you said that you had tried to "recreate the old user danie".
Exactly what did you do then?
A couple of notes:
* ~/.dmrc is only written to, not used by lightdm.
* Can't see what im-config has to do with it.
Please try to be more concise. ;-)
