The error in the log is: Processing triggers for plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text ... /var/lib/dpkg/info/plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text.postinst: 21: /var/lib/dpkg/info/plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text.postinst: cannot create /lib/plymouth/themes/ubuntu-text/ubuntu-text.plymouth: Directory nonexistent dpkg: error processing plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text (--unpack):
I don't see any way this could be related to erasing or not of the previously-installed OS. However, this is the second bug in a row against plymouth (bug #1278360) reporting this issue, which should not be possible at all unless you've damaged your filesystem in some way. As I wrote on the other bug: The /lib/plymouth/themes/ubuntu-text/ directory belongs to the plymouth- theme-ubuntu-text package. You have a damaged installation, either due to some incorrect manual removal of files on your part, some third-party software breaking the install, or disk corruption. You will need to reinstall the package with 'apt-get install --reinstall plymouth-theme- ubuntu-text' to correct this. So do you have any idea why this directory is missing from your system? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1278330 Title: package plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text 0.8.2-2ubuntu31.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2 install-procedure failed on wrong user command To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/1278330/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
