Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk
"Radeon", "Radeon (fbdev)", "Radeon (fglrx)", "Radeon (vesa)" and
"Radeon 8500".
What is so special about the Radeon 8500?
The first four should be put into one "model" with a selection of 4
drivers in the "Available drivers" box underneath. Currently I get these
options:
Model: Driver
"Radeon": "OpenSource Driver"
"Radeon (fbdev)": "OpenSource Driver", "Proprietary Driver"
"Radeon (fglrx)": "OpenSource Driver", "Proprietary Driver"
"Radeon (vesa)": "OpenSource Driver", "Proprietary Driver"
"Radeon 8500": "OpenSource Driver"
(Also, what's with the capitalization on "OpenSource"?)
Do we have the ability to change this list to:
Model: Driver
"Radeon": "ati", "fglrx", "fbdev", "vesa"
"Radeon (legacy)": "ati"
I think that newer Radeons than just the 8500 are now unsupported by the
proprietary fglrx driver, my Radeon 9000 Pro included, so labelling
these (legacy) would probably be the best bet.
Furthermore, making a selection of the "Available Driver" doesn't update
the insensitive "Choose driver by name" option above, (though when
clicking "OK", the correct driver is marked). This is a bit weird,
especially as changing the model *does* update this insensitive option.
One kind of gets the feeling that changing this option isn't actually
making a difference.

5 models listed under "Radeon"; should be simplified to 2?
