Public bug reported:

Auto-login selected at installation time.

After installing other window managers from synergy,

such as gnome, kde, cairo-dock, etc.

logging out, selecting any other than Lubuntu, enters a blank Xwindows
screen with only the mouse pointer.

NO right-click menu. NO functioning CTRL ALT Backspace to end the
session.

The only way to stop X is from another terminal, "stop lightdm" for
instance.

HOWEVER, "start lightdm" returns to the same stuck screen with no
options or apps whatsoever. Not even ALT F2 works to launch things.

Editing ~/.dmrc or removing it does not help.
