Public bug reported:

Have a script that mounts a remote directory. The script checks for the
directory and if not there issues the mount-cifs and then checks again
to be certain the remote system is reponding. Recently noticed that the
script is reporting the server not responding but the mount is there.
Found this to be a intermittant problem. Some times the script reports
server not responding and other times works as expected. Always the
mount-cifs is issued and completes successfully.

Will add test script.
